Meyer Goes Green

Rechargeable AA and AAA batteries are now available for checkout along with chargers at the Meyer Tech Desk. One set comes with 4 batteries. Use them for our popular checkout items, such as Flip Ultra HD Camcorders and Sony MP3 Voice Recorders. See more details and other announcements on our blog.

New StanfordCardPlan Options

Stanford now offers each student $1000 of credit each quarter which can be used for printing and purchasing textbooks via the StanfordCardPlan. These charges then show up on the student's University Bill. For cluster printing, you can now use the StanfordCardPlan or the anonymous SUL Cash Card. See more details on our blog.

Take CS2C: Multimedia Production

You can now sign up for CS2C: Multimedia Production through Axess to learn about image, audio, and video editing. This quarter's class will be held at Meyer Library, Room 220 (Flex Lab), Fridays 3-5PM.

Happy New Academic Year!

It's a new school year, and we're celebrating by introducing some exciting new inventory for equipment checkout at Meyer Library! We got some more projectors, High-Definition (HD) camcorders, camera accessories like mics and tripods, DVD burners, MP3 recorders, and external hard drives. Intersession Hours at Meyer

Intersession is August 16-September 20. During this period, the Meyer Tech Desk, Multimedia Studio, 2nd Floor Cluster, and the Residential Computing offices will only be open to the public Mon-Fri 1-5PM. We will be closed on weekends. September 21 is the first day of classes, and we will resume our Academic Schedule, which you can look up at http://libraryhours.stanford.edu.

Credit Cards Accepted at Meyer

As of this week, the Meyer Tech Desk accepts payment for poster printing by credit card. Simply stop by the Tech Desk anytime the 2nd floor is open and a consultant can fill you in on the details!

New Group Study Space in Meyer

Student consultants from the Meyer Tech Desk enthusiastically proclaimed the amazing services and facilities available at Meyer to anyone who would listen during Admit Weekend. New Equipment for Checkout

About Us

Student Computing is a department of Academic Computing, a division of Stanford University Libraries and Academic Information Resources (SULAIR). Student Computing, currently with 13 professional staff and about 150 student staff, provides a wide array of technology services for students through Residential Computing, technology education, public computing, and software systems.

Student Computing supports:

  • use of technology for academic and community purposes for Stanford's 10,000 housed students through peer consulting and education, computer-equipped study spaces, networking support, and printing and software systems;
  • central facilities in Meyer Library and Tresidder and department-based libraries, including computer clusters, 24-hour study spaces, and high-tech classrooms;
  • multimedia and consulting services, digitization, and equipment checkout offered through the Tech Desk at Meyer Library;
  • multimedia production and consulting in the Meyer Multimedia Studio;
  • software delivery systems for some 1400 public and staff computers in various departments in over 100 locations;
  • conference and visitor computing services during summer.
