About Us

Student Computing is a department of Academic Computing, a division of Stanford University Libraries and Academic Information Resources (SULAIR). Student Computing, currently with 13 professional staff and about 150 student staff, provides a wide array of technology services for students through Residential Computing, technology education, public computing, and software systems.

Student Computing supports:

  • use of technology for academic and community purposes for Stanford's 10,000 housed students through peer consulting and education, computer-equipped study spaces, networking support, and printing and software systems;
  • central facilities in Meyer Library and Tresidder and department-based libraries, including computer clusters, 24-hour study spaces, and high-tech classrooms;
  • multimedia and consulting services, digitization, and equipment checkout offered through the Technology Services Desk in Meyer Library;
  • multimedia production and consulting in the Meyer Multimedia Studio;
  • software delivery systems for some 1400 public and staff computers in various departments in over 100 locations;
  • conference and visitor computing services during summer.
