General Requirements for Student Jobs

Stanford students are only allowed to hold jobs with the following arrangements.

Status With 50% RA/TA/CAship* Student Status Restrictions for Job Record (weekly)
US Citizen or International student w/Visa No Enrolled 8 hrs w/StuComp; all University jobs not to exceed 20 hours
US Citizen Yes Enrolled 8 hrs w/StuComp plus 20 hrs w/RA/TA/CAship; all University jobs not to exceed 28 hours
US Citizen or International student w/Visa No special treatment, hours restrictions still apply Not enrolled (usually summer) All University jobs not to exceed 40 hrs

* RA/TA/CAship = Research/Teaching/Course Assistantship job record in Peoplesoft

Note that this is based on the hours registered with the student's job record(s) in the Peoplesoft system and not the actual hours students may work in a given week (this includes hours that may be reported on timecards for other jobs on-campus).
